Steam web helper not responding
Does anyone have an issue with the steam web helper not responding and being unable to access steam no matter what you do?

What fixed it for me was just installing steam outside of program files, mabye try that?
Thanks for the tip. I did so (both different directories and even different hard drive / SSD), unfortunately it didn't help. Still have the same issue
I had this issue recently and it ended up being asus software that was interfering.
If you are trying to solve this issue and cant seem to fix it, try going into msconfig -> services and click hide all microsoft services and then click disable all and restart. if it was some program that was interfering that caused the issue then steam should now start just fine. From there you can go back to msconfig and start activating the services again 1 by 1 (or in batches if there are a lot) until you find the culprit.
This started happening to me. Tried the "suspend steam.exe until mswebhelper loads" but it doesnt work for me. Tried removing Armoury Crate. I also tried all the suggestions from several posts for several hours. The only thing that worked was creating a new windows account. That loads steam.exe fine. But it is a pretty lame solution. Totally started happening out of the blue. Very frustrating. fwiw I have a RTX 4090, Ryzen 7950x, and Asus x670e Hero.

Still broken. Is there any way to escalate to valve?
I have opened a ticket and they were quite responsive but unfortunately not able to help. They said they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. Probably most likely first released on the beta Channel
I think it helps if a lot of people open Tickets on this raise awareness further

I'm having this issue now even after reinstalling
I tried escalating to support... hoping they can help
I have the same problem. Used Steam yesterday morning, no problem. But in the afternoon, started getting this error. I've tried everything I can find on this issue and nothing is working. Not reinstalling, not deleting SteamWebHelper and letting Steam reinstall it, not using the Resource Manager trick... nothing is working. Sent a message to Steam support and they are saying it must be a conflict or an OS problem, but literally nothing changed on my system from the a.m. to the p.m. Only change was a Steam client automatic update. Something must be broken on their end. Any further hints I can try?
