My post about games got deleted on 'Steam Discussions'
Why?
Was it because it was a list about 'dark & heavy' games?
Is it because there's a sub-forum I should be posting on about games in general?

I did get another post deleted around the same time,
because it was honestly rude, I must admit.

But for this one the message I got was:
This post contains content that is off-topic or redundant. This type of content is not allowed on the Steam Community.
Like... what?!? It's 'redundant' to talk about GAMES?!
SURELY there's some place on the regular steam forums to talk about GAMES in general?

The "Steam Discussions" is for discussion of the steam client, you would be better off with "Steam Community" or "Off Topic".

Have you even seen that subforum? Honestly there all kinds of topics in Steam Discussions. Threads with giveaways, numerous unrelated rants, blatant spam threads etc. are going on for months there. And this particular thread about games gets deleted, how?

While I agree that Steam Community would be a better fit for your thread, OP, I find that kind of moderation just infuriating.

There is a recent thread about roguelikes there now with an ongoing discussion. Would that be deleted too?

What users decide to post there doesn't change to purpose of that forum: to discuss the steam client.

In the end it's up to the mods to enforce content based off of user reports.

If OP's thread got deleted, then the mods decided it didn't belong there.

Answer remains, try OT or Steam Community.

It still comes down to the quality of moderation. At worst, that thread should have been moved. But I guess we can't have those basic things now, along with thread merging. It's either ignore (90% of the time), delete, or lock (two months old relevant and helpful threads included).

The Steam discussions aren't the right place to dispute specific bans. We encourage you to contact Steam Support.
