🔴How I Fixed Screen Flickering in Minimalist Games Like Zup! Zero 2❓❗️
When I first launched Zup! Zero 2, I ran into a really frustrating issue: the screen kept flickering non-stop, making the game unplayable. At first, I thought it was a problem with my hardware or system, but after some experimenting, I discovered a surprisingly simple solution that completely fixed the issue. I’m sharing my experience here in case anyone else is struggling with the same problem.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Every time I launched the game, the screen would flicker constantly. It was clear that the game was having trouble interacting with my system's graphics settings. From what I understand, this type of issue is usually caused by:
1️⃣ Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers
2️⃣ A mismatch in refresh rate or resolution between the game and the monitor
3️⃣ Disabled V-Sync or improper initialization of graphics resources like DirectX or
OpenGL
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Solution I Discovered

After trying a few different things, I found that simply launching another game first (preferably a more graphically demanding game like Counter-Strike) and then opening Zup! Zero 2 completely resolved the flickering issue.
Here’s how I did it step-by-step:
1️⃣ First, I launched Counter-Strike and let it fully load.
2️⃣ just let the game run for a bit.
3️⃣Then, I minimized Counter-Strike.
4️⃣ Finally, I opened Zup! Zero 2, and the flickering was gone!

This method worked perfectly for me, and I’ve been using it ever since whenever I encounter this issue.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why Does This Work?

At first, I wasn’t entirely sure why this fixed the problem, but after a bit of research, here’s what I found:
☑️Games like Counter-Strike force the system to properly initialize graphics settings like
resolution, refresh rate, and V-Sync. Once these settings are in place, lighter games like
Zup! Zero 2 inherit them and work without issues.
☑️Additionally, launching a heavier game first reloads key graphics libraries (like DirectX or
OpenGL) that might not have been initialized correctly by the smaller game.

In short, the first game “resets” the graphics pipeline, creating a more stable environment for the second game.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If This Doesn’t Work for You

If this method doesn’t solve the problem, you can try these additional fixes:
1️⃣ Update Your Graphics Drivers: Make sure your GPU drivers are up to date.
2️⃣ Enable V-Sync: Turn on V-Sync in the game’s settings or your GPU control panel.
3️⃣ Match Resolution and Refresh Rate: Set the game’s resolution and refresh rate to
match your monitor’s specifications.
4️⃣ Verify Game Files: If you’re using Steam, verify the game files to ensure nothing is
corrupted.
5️⃣ Lower Graphics Settings: If you’re on an older system, reducing the game’s graphics
settings may help prevent flickering.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
For me, launching a heavier game like Counter-Strike first was a quick and easy solution to fix the screen flickering in Zup! Zero 2. Sometimes, the simplest solutions work the best!
