I can also hear everyone in game chat perfectly fine but the problem is that no one can hear me at all. In both windows and in the steam voice settings everything sounds perfect and crystal clear. Even with direct monitoring I can hear everything back clear as day.
Some fixes that I read were:
1:) Turning on the microphone access in the broadcasting tab of steam's settings. (Didn't work for me)
2.) Setting the microphone that is being used as the default device. (Also didn't work)
3.) Downloading the Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (Didn't fix the in game voice chat problem but did fix other apps for me)
4.) Uninstalling both the microphones audio drivers and your PC's audio drivers (reinstalling them straight after).(Didn't work for me.)
5.) Making sure all in-game settings are adjusted correctly. (They say it as if we all haven't tried)
6.) In the Privacy setting of Windows, select microphone and allow access to all applications that you want. (It was on by default, but who knows)
7.) Making sure that everything is unmuted. (They really think we're that stupid)
8.) Checking to see if your security/firewall is preventing your mic from being used. (I don't have any sort of program like that. I use the standard Windows defender that comes with Windows 11, so this also didn't help.)
9.) Testing to see if the problem persists even with other microphones. (I tried it with my old miktek mic and it was the same issue. Everything worked fine but the only place that it didn't work was in-game.)
10.) Turning off Geforce Experience Share. (I never found this one but I did turn off everything having to do with Geforce and I still can't use my mic in-game)
11.) Lastly, resetting your entire computer. (This is the nuclear option. Try all the others before even considering doing this. I did it and I regret it since it never fixed my issue.)
If you ever find a solution please let me know lol. I'm so bummed out that I dropped a ton of cash on a decent mic and pre-amp for it to not even work in game. Hopefully one of these is the solution that you need. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.
It sounds like the audio may be expected from input 1 but the Scarlett Solo Mic input is input 2. Combining the inputs should fix this.
I tried and it worked!! Thanks a lot!
