Games crashing after 1-3hrs of playing.
Hi guys, i built myself a new PC about a week ago and ever since most games crash consistently after a few hours of playtime, usually with no error message except for stalker 2 giving me a UE5 low level error message.
The pc is perfectly stable in the desktop and will stay on with no crashes overnight.
It was also stable during various stress tests for about 5+ hrs.
Heres what i have checked already:
Not a temperature problem, My gpu sits happily at 65c whilst gaming, the cpu runs at 60c whilst gaming with no temperature spikes (i have undervolted it but i have tried with no undervolting too with no changes), i have ran stress tests to monitor use and temperature and the temps never go above 75c for cpu and 70c for gpu.
I have tried the windows memory diagnostic tool, it found no issues.
I have stress tested the pc with 3d mark stress tests and cinebench stress tests, no issues and stable temps.
I have double checked all cables are secured on the mobo and all components.
I have swapped the psu to a new more powerful one with no changes.
I have updated my BIOS to the latest version (which did help get temperatures down a bit on the cpu, but has otherwise not changed the problem.)
i have reinstalled my Nvidia drivers (i am going to try and roll back to an older driver next).
i have tried changing my settings in the games (stalker 2, god of war ragnarok, cyberpunk 2077) with no success.
Ran FSC scan with no errors found.
Turned off integrated graphics, no results.
Any suggestions and help is very much appreciated!

Next steps i will take in the meanwhile: try a different slot of the gpu, reroll back to older Nvidia drivers.

Here are my specs:
RTX3080 MSI suprim x 10gb.
Gigabyte aorus elite x870 wifi 7
32 gb 16x2 trident z neo 6000mhz ram with expo enabled.
Ryzen 7 9800x3d
cooler master atmos 360mm
WD black 4tb gen4 m2 ssd
Samsung 970 pro evo m2ssd
corsair RM1000x psu
be quiet shadow base 800fx

2 things to test for, turn off IGPU card's

And ask Nvidia support why all games acording to you crash within 1 to 3hours.

ps
Asuum this is windows, and do reinstall driver from custom install to makea a clean install.

Normal gpu install is over then you have issue.

ps.
What you have there is ols way learn like gpu card driver is bad to clean up and get crash issue with it. ( i dont work for gpu card so i dont know what term they call this, but its look like the old system neeed to clean up and get issue with it. ( this look like driver issue )

This is seen before then gpu card cleanup up its own RAM ( VRAM) issue but maybe not the ram but its driver to handle it.

And this is why you need to contact live support and hope they can test something for you or give better advice then we can here.

You wont get many helper that will not aagree on stablie so long and then it go down the drain from there, ( require yesr of experience to notice this by yourself, if lets say we are right in this.

ps.
You can test for turn off vulkan drivers , but i doubt it that easy to fix, and that is also GPU card supports problem.

ps.
Dont forget board support also, they can also be part of the issue. ( you just need a BIOS issue with leak of memory or corupted data. ) so graphic card get issue with its system ram, and yes your card handle all graphic , but before it get there its process and handle in the system, and fail doing a cleanup while in game ofc..

also why it look like GPU card driver issue , and lets hope its that issue only.

ps.

last thing check MS own VC++ in top of this they are still been seen as Runtime drivers, steam and game devs have no clue what MS has updated them if this matter at all.

My original RTX 2070 happily ran through all sorts of benchmarks without issue, but would crash in a lot of games. Turned out it was one of the faulty batch that had memory issues.

The reality is your PC doing something like sitting at the desktop without issues or evenm running benchmarks happily doesn't really mean anything you need to troubleshoot everything, starting with the basics, i.e. making sure everything is seated properly in the motherboard.

Run bios at optimised default/factory default. That should set ram to basic settings.
If that doesn't work turn off xmp manually.
Turn off turbo/core boost.
Maybe try smart access memory off if its on.
Disable hyper threading.
Bios might have an echo setting you could try too.
That's all i can think of at the minute. It's been a long time since i've needed to fiddle with any of these settings. Setting bios to default usually does the trick then you can start enabling stuff one at a time run it for a few days then enable something else.
Try Prime95 small ft. Those others are a lot easier on the system. But i still wouldn't rely on it.

RAM
Either one of the chips is bad or you need a Bios-Update.

Update people, iv'e updated my bios again, so far no crashes except for one.
I have also ran memtest 3 extreme, no errors after 6 cycles.
And i clean installed the drivers which used to work for my gpu.

I did finally get an error message, from war thunder crashing this is it:

You have 3 option game devs, gpu card support, or board support.

Do check VC++ from MS own support page ( more a what if runtime driver matter here. )

And validate game intergrity of files, ofc..

Have you done the use BIOS defaul so you dont have RAM boost /OC because some board have such as default.

Update 2: it would seem that clean installing windows has fixed my problems. rather mysterious as to why windows was the problem to begin with but oh well, it worked out in the end. Thanks for the advice!

You wont see post with reset OS as frist choise anymore, this is user own choise as enough of all this crap, but we have seen post with same error again after a reset, this is why most dont say it, uttil alot of testing has benn done.

just a heads up , make log of app you install if this start over. ( i doubt it happend again , but lets say you do get it back that bug . )
