Half LIfe 2 Cinematic Mod crashes
I am using the Cinematic Mod 2013 Final. It used to work great. But from one moment to the other it became unpossible to open the options at main menu. everytime i click on options the game crashes back to desktop with no error message. fresh installation of hl2, ep1 &2, steam and the mod didnt help.

Hi,
same here. Yesterday it was still working, from here to now, CTD when accessing the options menue. I realized that today there was a very small update downloaded automatically via steam, maybe thats the point?

I just found a solution. CM2013 Folder is in blabla\steamapps\common
There was also a folder named SteamVR in there (some oculus rift steam-tool i never asked to be installed, but it was there anyway). When i just remove it from there i can access the options again. Putting it back in the common folder makes the game crash again^^.
Hope it works for you too...

You're welcome :) I was desperate too, because with CM it's an awesome game.

Maybe some incompatibility with the "old" CM Mode Code. While the original HL2 environment gets updated, cinematic-modded HL2 stays as is.

this folder should be "program files\steam\vr" or "steamapps\common\steamvr" ? I have only this first folder, and when I removed it, game still crashes.

I refered to the Steam installation folder. I mean [DriveLetter]\Valve\Steam\SteamApps\Common\SteamVR

So it's the second one. I could not find any "...\Steam\vr" on my PC^^
strange...

I don't have any steamVR folders anywhere on my system! Last night after a retstart the options worked a few times, now they don't again.

I'm at a loss here.

Never mind I found it. In my folders it's called Steam\Steamapps\common\OpenVR

Renamed that, back in working order now.

I installed this SteamVR and then deleted. Thanks for help.
