Other ways to be able to play Assassin's Creed Unity if i don't...
apparently i don't have the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680 or AMD Radeon HD7970 (2 GB VRAM) for the minimum system requirements and i bought the game and now it's in my library and i can't play it as it just says unknown error when i hit Play.

Do you know the specifications of your computer?
IsayOuch Jan 6, 2015 @ 3:18am
i know it's under the minimum requirement

Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4570 CPU @ 3.2GHz

Installed memory(RAM) 4.00GB (3.38GB usable)

System type: 32-bit Operating System

and no graphics card
it has a built-in gpu, probably intel hd 4400. (or 4000).

save around 350$, buy nvidia gtx 970, and play ACU.

also, you might switch to 64bit windows OS. license is the same for both x86 and x64, difference only in installer source so license will likely be valid for a single instance of either x86 or x64.

Actually, the i5-4570 has intel hd 4600. But yeah it is still terrible and not made for gaming, just like all integrated graphics.

Swap to 64-bit Windows, add 4 Gb of same RAM you already have (if you have one 4 Gb stick then add another 4 Gb stick, if you have 2x2 Gb then add 2x2 Gb).
Then GTX 970 graphics card and 550W+ decent quality power supply.

If you have some extra slim PC case instead of normal sized tower then you are pretty much screwed though.

There are some low profile cards too, not 970's ofc, but still better than integrated.

Avoid playing the game and racking up too much time spent... less than a few minutes if possible. Also, act quickly, within a couple days of the purchase (at least within 30 days).

Take a screenshot of that error message though, upload to tinypic or similar image hosting and use the URL direct link from that upload.

Contact Steam Support:
https://support.steampowered.com/

This is a different account from your steam account by the way.

Look up the error code, if possible.

However, you need to inform them of the error, that you have worked out your graphic card doesn't meet system requirements, pretty much what you told us here, and you would like a return/refund, if possible. They should hopefully remove the game from your steam library and give you Steam Wallet credit back for it.

There is no way to play it on your current system without major upgrades.

alright, thank you for your suggestions. i will see what i can do about it,

I wouldn't bother support, keep the game for when you can play it in the future.

You are responsible for determining if your system has the capability before you press the purchase button.

While possible support will grant you a refund, the odds are pretty slim and probably a waste of everyone's time.
