Game prices also arent going to fluctuate with currency rates. They're set statically
Ergo
1) You are gettting far better and cheaper pricng
2) your prices are no longer tied to the USD which means your value of your steam wallet is far more stable
if that is true I will complain no more. anybody can confirm this? is there any official statement about this?
i mean how much the difference on usd was that? 0.05? or 0.01?
it just stupid
it is awesome in that way. what I don't like is how they force converting my previous wallet balance. if I knew this would happen, I would never fill my Steam wallet. I worry the prices of the games and market items will keep rising according to USD while my balance stays the same in IDR.
try contacting Steam support? I read other threads, some people experiences similar problems.
The games prices are still tied to the USD, its just that steam wont be updating the conversion rate that often. Sure it's stable but it won't necessarily be better/cheaper.
But now comparing prices between steam and other places like gmg or gamersgate for example is harder.
Steam is probably doing this so taht their partnership with local voucher/online credits vendor can work.
I just wish they'd make this currency thing optional.
Which means everyone would pick the lowest value currency to buy all their games.
This is exactly the same 'issue' that EA ran into when it was found that a game was cheaper in one currency due to the conversion rates, so people logged in pretending to be in that area and bought it for cheaper than they should do.
Why stick to USD when there are ones far better for you then that??
The picking lowest currency thing only works if the games prices are way different when converted to USD like whats going on in Russia.
But for us where the games prices are relatively the same with NA prices, it is not better.
Now i have to do a lot of math when comparing steam prices to other places such as Greenman or gamersgate. As in the USD prices on those other prices converted VS Steams exchange rate.
Where previously i'd just compare the USD prices since the conversion rate will be the same and that is the one my credit card uses.
