Steam Currency Conversion is Annoying

I started to hate Valve for doing this. My Steam wallet balance is automatically (forced) converted to IDR.

I have already contacted Steam support before stating that I wish to continue using USD instead.

My current wallet balance is Rp 137,010.85 now. What can I do with Rp 10.85? It's $ 0.000909 as of today. And the currency is always dropping in value.

Are you trying to rob from poor country Valve? Congratulations then, you have succeed.

[UPDATE] Please read before mentioning cheaper prices (or other regional pricing thing):

I'm not complaining about Steam lists prices in local currency. I'm complaining about Steam converted my wallet into Rupiah although I already contacted support. I don't care seeing games cheaper, I care about my wallet for now. It's not much, but it is my money. Besides, I'm more concerned about market item prices. Rupiah value is going down everyday. When the prices are updated, your wallet won't be. That's what I'm complaining about.

Also, don't tell me to "go to real forex finance company". Since when you could buy/sell Steam items there. Such a stupid statement to say.

Could mod please lock this thread? I'm already tired with these.

think about this scenario. let say today 1 USD is 11,000 IDR. you list an item for sale for Rp11,000 ($1). tomorrow (or when Steam updates its exchange rate) 1 USD is 12,000 IDR. will your item be listed as 12,000 IDR or still 11,000 IDR which is less than 1 USD now.

yea i agree.. this conversion was sucks. how can i trade with rupiah but most of the world use usd currency? too confused converting rupiah to dollar manually, so much wasting time.
epic volvo, think the conversion will make us better. else the amount not look good, so much confused i read Rp26767,07 in my account and so do in market.

I have no problem with the move to local currency, but I used to pay with my paypal account and they removed that option after the change. Paypal is available locally and can pay in any currency so why they have to remove that option?

Some people are still missing the point of what the complaints are about. It's about "OPTION". Users should have a CHOICE on what currency they want to use. If they buy or sell at a loss, that's their problem. If they want local currency, so they have it now. If I (and some others here that you negatively call "complainers") want our wallets valued (even permanently) at USD, then we want an option for it. It's for convenience sake for me; some other valid reason for others.

It is about CHOICE.

For the SEA conversion other than Singapore, all other regions are doing WAY better than on the USD. In fact they are almost the same as Russian Ruble prices. Only Singapore is 'relatively' high, but it puts it on par with Brazil's discount of about 10-15%.
