buttons for "block" and "unblock" communications do not work anymore

For some reason, the "block" button has stopped working. It worked fine before, but now when I click on it, there is no response at all.
This is only in the Steam client and in the in-game overlay; it still works fine via browser.

The same behavior (unresponsive button) is also present for the "unblock users" button. Only works via browser, no longer works in the Steam client.

I have tried restarting the Steam client and rebooting the computer.. any other ideas?

can you start windows safemode+networking start steam if you have internet there and try?
I am thinking maybe you have software blocking the changes.
if it works normal in safemode+networking I am right.

I'm now logged into safemode+networking, still can't use the buttons. I also just tried some other buttons, I can't even "add friend" or "invite to join group"... :o

PS: The only software change I recall between when it worked and when it didn't work is a Far Cry 4 update (on uplay, not steam) - I would be more than a little surprised if that had anything to do with it!

safemode showed it was not software as I explained.so yeah obvious.

I would exit steam and delete everything form the steam folder exept steamapps and userdata folder and keep the steam.exe and the ssfn file(s).
than start steam again.
