DirectX update?
I'm running on Vista first of all, and steam is requiring that I update DirectX to run any of my games.
However everytime I click the link they give and try to download it, there is an error that appears that states "An internal system error occurred. Please refer ti DXError.log and DirectX.log in your Windows folder to determine problem."
I already have DirectX 11 on my computer and the DirectX that steam is linking me to appears to be DirectX 9.0c for WindowsXP
This problem started on Dec. 26th 2014 and I'm at my wits end, and I have a hard time finding people with a similar problem.
I have no way of bypassing this and everytime I try to run a game it just pops-up the DirectX link.
If anyone finds/has a fix for this I'd be very thankful. Will post updates if I find a solution.

I may have been wrong, it appears "DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer" is what it wants me to install.

can't think of anything, this error occured after I installed some games, I was able to run them the night I got them but the day after is when this happened, maybe that's relevant?
Maybe my file is just corrupted, I'm currently trying to do a reinstallation of DirectX, will update if it works.

there are 2 versions , one is 64bit and the other 32 , you need to dl the correct one for your os .

and if by a rare chance your trying to run a 64bit game (there are a few now ) on a 32bit os it will not work
I'm running on a 64-bit version of Vista, and even game which have run in the past are not running at all. I tried installing a 64-bit version of DirectX but nothing happened or changed.

did you try re-installing you gpu drivers ? if they get fowled up you can get a dx error , and games wont run
I actually just tried that an hour ago. There was a new driver however it didn't do anything related to my issue.

it checks to see if it is not corrupt
