Assassins Creed Unity Crash

Hello Everyone! After the fourth patch my ACU has been unplayable due to a crash that occurs right before the main menu is loaded in. The game is still running as i checked my running programs and sure enough, there it is! It also wont allow me to get back into the game by alt tab ing or just clicking on the game icon. Any thoughts or tips welcomed!

Researched it a bit more and found that it was a common problem. The developers are supposedly fixing it.

I had the same problem. I saw a post on Ubisoft forum that helped me.

1. Verify your files on the Uplay program.
2. Reinstall DX and VCC.
3. Backup this folder and erase it after: user\documents\assassins creed unity
(this folder contains 2 files, ACU.INI and GFXsettings.ACU.XML, those are graphic config)
The system will create a new one when you restart the game.

After doing that, my game started ok and i could play the DLC dead kings.
