Hey,

Is anyone else getting this error consistently during the sale period. I have bought a good amount of games already, and have never really had issues with steam before but now I am unable to purchase anything.

I have tried using multiple credit cards, my debit, and paypal and always receive the same error. I know the cards I am using are fine, and have used them to purchase from steam in the past.

I issued multiple steam tickets over the last few days, but it seems their entire support team has went on vacation and does not answer or fix anything. It's quite inconvenient as sales are expiring, and I can't purchase anything at all. I have tried purchasing the same thing over and over for the last 6 hours and it isn't able to go through - this isn't a card issue but a Steam server issue. I have tried multiple different browsers, tried my phone, the steam client and different computers without any luck. This has been happening for days and maybe for a couple minutes I can purchase a game but then the error happens again.

Is there a fix to this? I have been on steam for years without issue, and now suddenly I am completely locked out and their support team seems to ignore any requests for help.

I'm on the same boat as you, almost word for word. Lots of people are complaining about the same. I guess we're just stuck waiting... It's their loss, we can always buy the games cheaper later.

Yeah, it's very annoying. I have missed many sales and watch them go by as this error is constantly happening. South Park on sale right now - add it to my cart but can't buy it because their servers can't even keep up with purchasing demand.

Yeah, same. Are you having errors with the Steam Wallet too?

Same problem, but steam also have banned purchases for my girlfriend's account. And more - steam took money from credit card and didn't give me games. Poor support for such big company. I'm frustrated.

I have tried adding money into the Steam wallet as an alternative to using a card or paypal - but cannot do that either without getting this error. This is all on steam to fix it, but they won't respond to anyone with the issue nor fix it.

Yep. I even went as far as to check if my credit card had reached it's limit - it's a low limit, but I rarely reach it - and it didn't. I even used different cards, tried purchasing using my smarphone's internet, using other wifi connections, doesn't really make a difference. Somehow you, me, and several other people are locked out of purchasing stuff from Steam. Steam works pretty much all the time, but on the most critical moments it starts to fail. Sigh...

Lucky you, atleast you still have your money. I've tried purchasing Borderlands 2 GOTY. Money has been widrawn from my bank account but the game isn't available for downloading.

Steam support won't respond to fix this issue either, so their error message is absolutely useless. No rain checks on these sales, so THANKS STEAM!

I've added funds for my steam wallet using PaySafeCard.
My wallet didn't expand and I don't have any funds on PSC.
I got this same error.
In my account details I see "Pending".

This is what my transaction history looks like now. As you can see, I bought Bioshock 2 earlier - and after that I've tried for the last 8 hours to buy a couple games and it fails every single time.
