Visa Gift Card Authorization
Today, I bought a Visa $50 Gift Card, and loaded the money up to my Steam wallet. After doing so, I went to the market and found the 5 day market ban that I got for purchasing funds with a new payment method. (which is annoying, they should tell me I won't be able to buy anything for 5 days before I make the purchase in the first place..) I read the thing where I can get rid of the ban by authorizing my card, which I have signed up on the website GoWallet. I clicked verify, and made sure I was logged into GoWallet with all my information correct, but it just keeps saying "Your bank declined one or both of our small authorizations. If you clear this issue up with your bank, you can retry then." I don't know what to do now, considering this Visa Gift Card isn't even hooked up to my bank, and I think I have everything necessary to prove the card is legit.

TL;DR, How do I authorize a Visa Gift Card to remove the 5 day market ban?

Not possible. From what you describe, you've bought a prepaid card which is empty now. Empty as in "Not possible to pull any money from that". So not possible.

I'm confused as to what you mean. Yes, the card is empty, so because of the fact that it's empty, I can't authorize it? That doesn't make any sense.

Why doesn't it make sense? Have you actually read what you've posted? You've posted that you got a message about your bank (the card company) declining the two small amounts for authorization. How doesn't "Card empty, payment declined" doesn't make sense?

Well, I read the rest of what Steam said regarding the authorization, and it says that it's not a payment they require for authorization, so the amount of money on the card shouldn't matter.

Where have you read that? Because where I have read, they withdraw two small amounts from your card, require you to provide the exact amounts and will return the money when the verification went through.

You're right. I guess I read it wrong, unfortunately for me I'm ♥♥♥♥ out of luck for 5 days. It's honestly a waste of time that Steam doesn't tell you that you need to verify the card or you're market banned for 5 days (pre-purchase that is). I'm just pissed off now. Thanks anyways.

No. You can not. If the method of payment can not be verified, you have to wait it out.

Read...

How do I verify a gift card that has a limited amount of funds?

In order to complete credit card verification, you'll need between $3 and $4 USD remaining on the card. In 5-10 business days, the money will be returned to the card. If you cannot complete credit card verification yourself, you will have to wait three days until the restriction is removed automatically.
