Is dedicated video RAM that big of a deal if all other specs meet the requirements?
As the title says, literally every modern (and by modern I mean 2012-2014 games) game's dedicated video RAM are ones that don't match mine, but is that a big deal if all the other specs meet the requirements?

I play games at a consistant 60 most of the time, and I'm not complaining on the performance, but I always get a bit skeptical whenever I see a game that I want to buy that has a high dedicated RAM, but everything else is runnable

My specs for the intrested (copypasta, so disregard unneeded info):

Intel Core i7-3537U @ 2.00GHz 2.50 GHz

8GB RAM

64-Bit OS, x64-based processor

You forgot to mention your videocard.
Yes, VideoRAM can be very important. VideoRAM is used for textures, models, effects, shaders, anti-aliasing and so on and so on. The higher resolution you play on the more VideoRAM is needed too.

The more you use, the more VideoRAM you need.

Since you haven't mentioned a graphics card, I'll assume you run on processor graphics. In this case, you have no dedicated VRAM and can forget about this whole topic.

Depends on the game and it's needs; but also VRAM is usually more related to the game quality settings too; as higher quality textures for example will require more VRAM. Game screen resolution also plays a role here; as that usually requires a certain minimum VRAM in most respects.
