Any good source to download steam game backups?
Problem 1
- I live in a third world country where internets are not only slow but also limited, and if it's fast, it'll be crazy expensive.

Problem 2
- I have paid for my games, I don't want to pay extra (and by extra I mean ridiculously a lot) for my internet to download the games.

Solution 1
- I can use my office computer, that way I don't at least need to pay for the internet at all to acquire the game files.

Problem 3
- The computer is password protected, I can't install ♥♥♥♥ on this computer. Not even to install steam, let alone the games.

Solution 2
- If I can, I need to simply download the games without the need to install steam, which I believe can be achieved by downloading the game backups files.

Which leads us to where we are now...

Problem 4
- Where can I download it? Any good source?? Or is that even possible at all???

At least that's my thought process. If any of you guys have other alternatives to my problem(s), please do tell.

Or... or if you guys kind enough to share your game backup files, please add or pm me. It will be much appreciated. Maybe you can share it through a cloud storage service like mega, dropbox, etc.

Another thing, this might be a good idea if on the steam game store page, once we hit the play button outside the steam client i.e., browsers, we're given the choice to open or download it via steam client or download the game directly from the browser e.g., in the form of .iso or .zip file.

If you download Steam games from your office or school computer they will fire you or expel you for abuse of IT resources.

First of all check your office rules, maybe ended in something something more serious than the costs of internet.
if no problem with that you can instal steam in a usb memory then download your game and revalidate the cache once in your home, and remember dont risk your job for a game.
His Office have locked down their PCs so that users do not have admin access to install 3rd party software (such as Steam).

If he installs Steam and/or downloads 1GB to 3GB (or more) from them whilst in a 3rd World Nation they will fire him on the spot for abuse of IT resources.

Their entire daily Internet usage for the entire office would be very minimal, and downloading a 1GB+ game will get him fired.

if you have a virtual box, install the prefered os and install you game over there, as you will have full control in virtual box and take a backup in an shared folder between your system and virtual box. so now you are good to go :-)

You can grab a copy of SteamCMD. I don't know if it actually requires any Steam services to be installed, but it should work without any formal installation. It'll download apps in the same manner as Steam, but you can just move the proper "common" game folder, .acf files, and downloaded manifests into place and your games should work. You'll still need to at least update and log in once on the computer you're trying to play the games on.

You are my life saver! Thank you so much!!!
P.S. It doesn't depend on steam service, so no administrator privilege required.
same situation here
can someone send me the data via email ?
You do know your offer is illegal, right?

I don't know. I download the game files from the original source, Steam.
FYI, i saw many online shop selling the steam backup. We are know that pirating/cracking/patching games are illegal, but why are people keep doing it?
At least i'm not pirating it.
Actually, you are.
You may not use the Content and Services for any purpose other than the permitted access to Steam and your Subscriptions, and to make personal, non-commercial use of your Subscriptions, except as otherwise permitted by this Agreement or applicable Subscription Terms. The important stuff is in bold.

So, unless you have a written statement by Valve that you are allowed to distribute the files, you are engaging in copyright infringement. Colloquially known as pirating.

So, do you have other solutions besides downloading games outside steam? Because I've also experienced problems when downloading via Steam App. Even though my internet connection is very fast to download files via Browser.

I just trying to help. If its bad, then don't need to do my advice.
There is no legal alternative to the Steam content servers.

Yeah, you can report my account if it is not in accordance with the provisions of the community. I'm indeed a new user on Steam and have not understood all the rules here. But if I burden the community, you can freely report me.
