Game was £1.99.....£2.99 came out of my account! help pls
I just bought Just Cause 2 in the sale for £1.99 and I checked my account balance and it has gone down £2.99. Not a big deal just wondering where that £1 went!

Any help is appreciated!

Thank you for the reply but it says it was £1.99 and my last transaction was nearly a year ago.

In that case i'd send a ticket to support.

Create/or log into your Steam Support account (different to your main steam account) here > https://support.steampowered.com

Good luck mate, hope it gets sorted.

Made an account on there and registered a question. I know it's not a lot of money at all but I don't want it happening to anybody else of even if I make a bigger purchase I don't want more money taken out of my account! Thank you all for being very helpful, it's much appreciated and all have a merry christmas!

I'm assuming you are looking at your card/bank statement and seeing the 2.99? The extra 1.00 could be just a test charge verifying that the card (or other payment method) was a valid. Usually those go away in a few days. If your Store Transactions page shows 1.99 then that's all the charge should be.

It's understandable, nobody likes being overcharged on things, hopefully you get a response soon. Merry Xmas to you too, only a couple hours now haha

That was my inital thought but usually the £1 difference is given back almost immediately, ie paypal. But thank you for your reply.

Authorizations usually stay on my card for about 12-24 hours, but it varies by payment source.

Give it 24 hours and see what happens. You can file a ticket with Steam Support now. If it is just a payment verificaiton it will probably be gone by the time Steam responds.

Okay, I'll give it 24 hours, thank you very much. It's appreciated.

Yeah you could buy a lot with that pound.. Like a lucozade hahah

On a serious note, did the price go back to the original sale price at £2.99? Because it was on sale as a featured deal at £1.99 though.

It could be the transaction Tax. For example some Colleges have cards for their students and it has a transaction tax of like .25 cents.

What are the odds tax being exactly £1.00 on a £1.99 item hmmm. I got a receipt from steam comforming it was just £1.99. Unless my math is wrong I had £65 in my account and it went down to £62.01 which is a pount less than it should have been!
