I got an email from microsoft.bill.gates.this.is.real@gmail.com, am I really talking to bill gates?
Also how many multi-billion dollar companies can you find using gmail addresses instead of their own domain?
That's the fascinating thing about scams is quite often facade is so flimsy it's almost seems to be done deliberately because it filters out anyone who is the least bit skeptical and all you're left with are the prime grade A marks.
I think I'll make myself some real trump e-mail. Maybe I'll get into the news.
thanks again everyone :D
to be safe, do not trade and do these
1. Scan for malware https://www.malwarebytes.com/
2. Check that the email and phone number on the Steam account are still yours.
3. Deauthorize all other devices https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
4. Change passwords from a trusted/clean device.
5. Generate new backup codes for your Mobile App
https://store.steampowered.com/twofactor/manage
6. Revoke the API key https://steamcommunity.com/dev/apikey
(there should be nothing in the APIKEY)
Click on Connections in the USER SETTINGS section.
Either unlink your Steam account from Discord or at least toggle off "Display on profile"
That will block one common way that scammers target Steam accounts.
