Selling games

is it possible to sell games you've once downloaded onto steam? if so i got a game that i want to sell. please help

not possible.. only if you purchased them as gifts and never used them.

Would be great to trade also games that you've played, for example old games that are not in trend right now.

Yeah, whenever someone asks about selling used games, someone is bound to come up with that great idea.

Not going to happen -- not allowing used games is one of the cornerstones of Steam, and I can't really complain about that either. There's a lot of other stuff that Steam deserves to be whipped for, but not that.

EDIT: plus, Steam doesn't even allow SELLING gifts. Gifts are not marketable...

okay thanks, i was just annoyed that i got a game never played, still downloading and wanted to sell it.

bad idea,that will make lot of people wait their friend to finish some game and then buy that game from their friend

1 game for lot of people,lot of dev will bankrupt

what about if 25% (or something) of the resale price from the market or whatever goes to the dev of the game?



i think it could work for some indie titles spreading their reach...

for example, person A buys this great indie game and sells it after finishing. person B doesnt want to pay the full price but would wait for a sale to get it. since person A finished the game and is selling it for a lower price, person B buys it from person A... later on when there is a sale, person A gets himself the game for nostalgic reasons or whatever.

With the example above the dev would even make more money than from 1 full and 1 discout sale......

DEV Profit:
- 1 Full game sale.
- 25% of the resale.
- 1 discout sale
