Hiding my purchases from friends
Hey,

I'm wondering if there's any way to hide what games I purchase from the activity field, as I do not want all my friends to see what I'm buying.

No.

You could buy stuff on another account and gift it to you -- I don't think gifts show up in the activity feed.

Gifts do show up I believe, but retail key activations (i.e. bundle sites) do not.

I think redeeming Steam gifts does show up (pretty sure it did when I redeemed a few trades).

Redeeming retail keys does not though.

OP, don't worry. Your friends will not think any less of you if they know you purchased Sakura Spirits.

i'd actually be pretty sure most people don't even look at, care about, or track which games other people are buying. ~ i mean maybe they do but if i had a friend so closely monitoring every little thing i bought i'd probably just un-friend them so they couldn't see, 'cause that's kinda creepy to me!

i don't think you can hide that kind of information from your activity feed. i know you can edit what kind of information shows up on your own activity-feed page, but not what shows up on another person's.

hahah no it's not that, just that I have some rl mates here that might get shocked from all the sale games im getting :D

I look at my activity feed every day, and usually if I see a friend purchase something it's because it was on a good sale, so I take a look too.

You could always buy a 4 pack of some of the games and share with your friends

do many people look at that activity feed anyway?
I used to look every day with the smaller font , less scrolling.
I never look there anymore when they changed it.

I just opened mine and the screen was filled with someones screenshot.
too much scrolling for my taste , disabling too much makes it borring.

I am for having a setting to hide what you want from your friends.
I add a lot of trade bots nobody needs to see.
