Make the free trading cards un-sellable and untradable?

It messes up the whole market and should be used to get a badge not money. anyone agree?

I think everything should be marketable. If it has value to someone they will buy it.
Being able to sell items helps me buy other things that I want.
I have spent money to buy cards to upgrade my steam level and sold cards to buy new games.
I see your point but for me the market adds a dimension that keeps me sticking with Steam and helps when I got no cash.

what if people gets 6 of the same card ???
then they cannot trade it with friends to get a chance to get the badge, and if none of your friends has the card you are searching after then steam market is a great place to find it

Some good cases for trading to stay, but i can't see any for them to be marketable. It would only be the free cards that are un-sellable.

I happen to enjoy being able to sell my cards. I have no real use for making badges, but the extra 250 dollars from other users was useful for buying games.

On sellers. Of one particular set of trading cards (2014 holiday sale - presumably these are the free cards you're talking about, yes?)

Sellers aren't "the market". Lower prices are good for buyers.

In a marketer's definition of free, perhaps. Ignoring the slim possibility of someone just giving you a bunch of cards for nothing in a trade, you can't get cards without giving money to Valve. The ones you get from games come after a delay (you have to play the game), but I'd definitely still call them part of that purchase: they're advertised on the Store page.

Factually yes, but in reality no. If i go and buy a set of cards jsut because i know i'm getting a free card, it's paying for itself

This kid is mad because he wanted to make money but most people were smarter than him.

Go learn something about offer and demand, son, the cards have the price they have because the community chose so.
