Can I use Steam app to download games to home PC?
For instance, if a game is going to be released tomorrow but I will be at work when it is released, and a preorder/preload is not available, if my home PC is logged in to Steam and I purchase the game once released through the mobile app while at work, will it prompt my home PC to start downloading the game so it will be ready when I'm home from work?
Or will I have to wait until I'm home from work to purchase from and then download to my home PC?

If you buy the game then your account will have the game, but you would have download it on your pc at home. If you download it on your computer at work it wont be downloaded on your pc at home. Hope this helps you.

Thanks for the reply but doesn't really help, because I meant through mobile app, not work computer.

Simplified question:
"If I leave my home PC logged in to Steam, then purchase game through mobile app while at work, will it then prompt an immediate download to my home PC?"

Thanks.
From what I understand from that link, I can leave my home PC logged into the desktop Steam application, then purchase a game through a browser on a different computer/mobile device, and it will initiate download to my home PC, so it will be ready to play when home from work?
Please confirm.

Yes as long as you initiate the install by clicking the install button.
