Enable SRS TruSurround XT?
Hay there.

My PC has a SRS TruSurround XT system that is supposed to turn two speakers into multi-channel surround systems (5.1, 6.1 and 7.1). Problem is I have no idea how to enable that. Shifting around in the playback devices from the speaker button in the system tray didn't work either, it only displayed stereo.

So how do I enable that? Do I need a specific driver?

No, that would be impossible. What it can do is turn multichannel sound down to Stereo.

SRS TruSurround XT is virtual audio, it echo/wraps sound around you to simulate 5.1 or 6.1 surround on a 2.1 environment.

It will need to work on it's own speakers.

Your motherboard or speakers will most likely have the drivers required.

What motherboard do you have?

What speakers are you using?

I've got an MSI CX70-2PFi781W7 here, I believe from what I've found the motherboard to be an MSI CX70 2PF.

I'm not sure about the speakers, they are integrated and when I view them in the system configuration they say "Realtek High Definition Audio"

You should be able to rock up to:
http://www.msi.com/support/nb/CX70.html#down-driver

Select your Operating System and install the drivers (if not already installed).
You will firstly need the 'Realtek HD Audio' drivers.

Then check under your Control Panel for the Realtek Audio Manager -> SRS tab.

I've installed the driver, but I can't find the SRS tab. The dropdown bar is greyed out and the only option there is Stereo.

Tried checking "Viritual Sound". Didn't work.

No plus button here.
