so why are all my gems gone from inventory?

me and my friend had all our gems taken. are we all getting this problem? and if so are we getting refunded or what?

Well when you are king of the ponies you're going to get bitten by fleas every now and then, but they are easy enough to scratch :)

Knew this was a bad idea the minute I saw it. Glad I stayed away, lol.

In my opinion these 'auctions' are going to be a complete cluster@#$%. They're highly likely to be exploited by unscrupulous people using bots (the way they do on ebay) to snipe them at the last second and such, in addition to whatever they're doing to scam more gems. Also hijacks are going to increase due to all the juicy gems to steal, so expect more people trying to add you to their friends list soon. None of these events Valve runs are ever free of exploits and scammers unfortunately. They simply can't control them.

I highly advise people to not accept new friend requests, links of any sort, or trade requests for the next couple of weeks.
