CD KEY HAS ALREADY BEEN USED: OLD STEAM ACCOUNT
Anyway, I decided to PLAY Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 single player for some reason, so when I tried to enter the CD key to install it it says that its already been used on another steam account. It asked me to retrieve old account details, however, those details ive lost and I cant retrieve because they are very old and I dont have access to the email address anymore. Can someone help me on what I need to do?? OR do I need to purchase another CD key to play it?

If you can't acess your old account, then yes you have to buy the game, if you want to play. If you have any information from your old account, you can contact Steam Support and try to retrive it.

Once a key is tied to a Steam account... it's permanent. It cannot be used on another account.

You can't transfer games.

But you can contact support (here: https://support.steampowered.com/newticket.php )
They should be able to give your old account back to you, if you can proof it is yours.

See this for help:

Even if it's not a hijacked account, the process is similar.
You need to provide proof, that it's your account. Normally the CD-Key with the written Supportticket-Number should be enough i guess, but anything you remember from the old account (the used e-mail adress, login-name, purchase options you used etc.) might be worthwhile to note.
