Help, i downloaded suspicious file what should i do?

hello guys im new here. i hope this is the right section for this

recently one of my friend got scam link from one of his friendlist.
he give me the link asking "what is that?" this is the link h.ttp:/pictures-saver.com/image_43634.jpg

so i clicked it (fk me right?) i though it was normal since he's my friend in RL too. at that time i dont know its not from himself.

so when i clicked it auto download something called image_43634.scr
i immediately cancelled it before its completed.

i already research about that file. its a virus to gifted away all of your item.

i changed my steam password.

should i full scan my system? or its save? i have avast antivirus, when i check from totalvirus, avast detected it as virus, but maybe since the download didnt complete avast stay silent.

help me guys. i dont want to lose my item. what should i do :(

If you didn't run the file you should be fine.
Scanning your PC might be good though.

Do a full scan with Malwarebytes first, then another one with Avast.
Also get in touch with your friend (who should do a full scan too) and mainly report the person from who he got that.

i immediately cancelled the download when its start auto downloading so the file even didnt get in to my disk.

but i guess i will scan my PC just in case. thanks for the answer man :)

Don't be paranoid. Don't need to scan your PC when you didn't even download the file.
