nattypeprobe.dll Trojan.FakeSteam from malwarebytes?
Today, I was running malwarebytes (not AVG or avast), and it was saying the file, nattypeprobe.dll, is a Trojan.FakeSteam. Currently it's in quarantine.

Now I already googled, and it say if it's AVG it will be false positive, and it is a p2p library. However, as I point out, this is brought on by malwarebytes.

Should I:
- restore it and add exclusion?
-Somehow force steam to redownload the correct version (and if so, how?)
-Reinstall?

EDIT: Now I have quarantine it. How do I know if it broke something? (mainly play tf2 and Payday 2 through steam)

Malwarebytes is updated, and the falsepositive is removed.

Enjoy ;)
I have malwarebytes premium my malwarebytes was fully updated before it caught that virus.
An I just now selected to manual update the definition database and there was no update its the same database.

A game I have on Steam did some exe. file modification outside of Steam a few weeks back which Kaspersky picked up. I blocked access. Now that does concern me.
What game was that?
Dont get mad because you use an antivirus

I wander if they actually looked at it or just let it past becasue it is a steam file
becasue with the file removed. There is no lagging on my steam like i did have before?

Why would you keep an antivirus if all it does was to worry you with endless questions?

The fastest way to make a major mistake is to ignore the obvious. If it looks like a virus what's it doing on your machine. If it isn't a virus, why did MalwareBytes pick it out. Either way, quarantine/delete and do, or do not, another download. Don't be brain dead, please.

Wasnt it even corrected as such?

MWB have confirmed it's a false positive, have corrected it and advise you to update your definitions and restore the file from quarantine.
