PS4 controller double inputs detected

Hi! I prefer playing games with my PS4 controller, and today when I started playing FF7 Remake (not on steam) the controller detects double inputs when buttons are pressed, from controller and from keyboard. For example the turning is way too sensitive, menu navigation is almost impossible. I tried uninstalling DS4 but nothing works. I have no idea what to do. Anyone help is appreciated!

Might be Steam's Desktop Layout. It maps the controller to mouse/keyboard when you're 'at the desktop' (when you're not in an application considered running by Steam is how I take it).

See how things go with the Desktop Layout disabled. One way to do that:

Steam > Settings > Controller > Desktop Layout > Edit.
That should open the configurator.
Click 'Disable Steam Input' in the top right.

An alternative could be adding the game as a non-Steam game and so Steam can know to not apply the Desktop Layout.

I don't know if this actually worked. I completely closed steam and now the controller works just fine!

Because if Steam is open it will detect a controller attached and why you had the double inputs issue.

But even now, when steam is running I can play the game just fine. Game detects only PS4 controller. Not sure what was wrong in the first place!

One of those odd issues that never seems to have the right solution.
