Xbox Share Button

The Xbox controller share button was working beautifully for me for a long while on Windows 11. I press the share button and it connects to Game Bar to take a screen shot and saves it to the Captures folder.

Then suddenly, a few days ago, it just stopped working. Pressing the share button does nothing all of a sudden. I wonder if there was an update to Steam Input that disabled it or if others having this issue.

This doesn't sound like Steam behaviour, unless perhaps you'd mapped Game Bar's screenshot shortcut to Share in a Steam controller layout or something?

Are you using the regular controller or an Elite etc?

Regular Xbox series controller. I did research online and cause appears to be a windows update that broke it. I found workaround by installing reWASD program.

I solved this problem by downgrading Windows to build 22631.2861 and disabling the update.

In steam controller settings you can bind the share key to f12 which don't need the game bar.
