Help me find save data location
So , I'm playing a game called System Purge ,
but suddenly this game - breaking bug occurred ,
preventing me from progressing further .
I thought the only solution is deleting save file and stating new one ,
but the game has no in - game save deleting option ,
so I searched local file , found nothing .
The save file has to be somewhere in my computer ,
or is there any chance it's not there ?
I'm only asking here because the game's own forum is practically dead ,
no one would notice .

I want to know what kind of filename extension I should be looking for , and where .

Seems noone has talked about it because it's a very obscure game. The developer could have been forthcoming in the above thread.

Don't forget to search in %APPDATA% and %LOCALAPPDATA% (just type those special strings into File Explorer's address bar).

If you don't see a 'System Purge' folder, maybe look for a folder named after the developer: 'Actual Nerds'.

Thank you for responding .

I searched in App Data and Local App Data and other places ,
and I managed to find what seems like System Purge folder ,
but I couldn't find save files , but maybe I missed something .

Those are the files I found on System Purge folder .
Could you distinguish potential save file if there's one ?

None of those are game save files. I'm pretty sure they are all required for the base game (database files, audio files, data.win contains assets like sprites and such).

Based on that file list, it seems the game was made with GameMaker. That engine normally defaults to %appdata% or %localappdata% for save files... but the developer can change it. If it's not there or in a subfolder of your Documents folder, it's not very easy to guess where it might be.

It's difficult to work out because I don't own the game. I'm sorry I can't be of more help. 😞

Oh no you really helped me big time ,
thank you so much .

But I need to confirm , the save file ,
it has to be somewhere in my computer , right ?
Or is there any chance it isn’t ?
You can try to contact the devs - contact@actualnerds.com and ask about the location.

As GameMaker is the engine, I think there's an almost 100% chance the gamesave file is on your system, and has the .ini extension.

Yes , that was the first thing I did , but from my experience ,
there is a good chance The Dev will never respond , so I can't just rely on that ...

I think I solved it , it was a nightmare ...

I had to search for all of ini files in my computer ,
but initially the extension name was hidden ,
so I didn't realize what I was searching for at first .

then I found a suspicious file with ini extension ,
and its name seemingly had nothing to do with the game ,
but I deleted it , launched the game , the data was successfully erased .

Thank you so much again , I couldn't have done it without your help .
