i cant . im not that fast to screen shot the thing i click on the play it says updating executable and then disappears while the game says lunching and stays on that for long time
Verifying game file integrity through Steam only checks to make sure all of the files are on your PC- and one sitting in an anti-virus quarantine folder is often counted as "existing" by Steam, even though the security SW will prevent it from being accessed.
huh this worked when i turn off my anti-virus the games work fine but when i turn it back on same thing..........
well who cares it works thanks for help
I didn't tell you to turn off your anti-virus software, though.
I only suggested you check it to see if any files had been quarantined.
You can also submit the .exe from the game to https://www.virustotal.com/gui/, which will check it through multiple AV vendors- it will check more than the one vendor you are using, and it can sometimes help to get the files removed from the lists of suspicious files for multiple vendors if the file is actually clean. If it comes back clean, *then* you add the entire game folder to your anti-virus program's whitelist, so you still have your AV running to keep your machine protected if you are doing anything else online while you have the game running.
Again- I did not tell you to turn off your anti-virus, only to check and see if any files had been quarantined. I have no idea what game you were having issues with, so I have no idea how trustworthy the game and its files are. If the game is a game you have on Steam and is being launched through Steam, it *should* be fine- Valve uses seriously good anti-virus/anti-malware software for everything in their store. But you really skipped basic online security by shutting your AV off without having the file checked.
As others have said you should be a bit cautious about just turning your AV off. If it's a legit game from a legit source it's unlikely to be an actual virus, but not impossible. Steam's recently changed it's best practices for publishers as one did get hijacked and have their game replaced with a virus download.
