Only 1 CD-key per account for each game, there is no way to update the previous key.
Whatever ♥♥♥ is, demand a refund, as it seems like a scam? Hopefully you used Paypal or something which can dispute payment.
You can change the key in the registry all you want. The minute you try to launch the game with Steam in online mode, it checks for valid stored keys and rewrites the key registered to your account into that space. Part of the "Preparing to launch" is validating stored key data.
No one can, or will, help you bypass Steam's authorization steps here. Doing so is, I believe, grounds for a ban.
Thank you! This helped A LOT!
