Steam account appearing offline, even when i'm connected.
Weird thing happened, was connected to steam then suddenly i states i had no connection. Normally when this happens, i can't open any pages from the steam client, but i could load everything pretty well.

Also appearing offline (borders are grayed out around the avatar) when connected through chrome (as I'm typing this now).

Logged out of the client, can't log back in, but i can connect through the browser.

Anyone have any idea what's going on?

EDIT: The issue fixed itself, no idea what did it.

PC,
i've tried restarting my router and pc.
deleted clientregistry.blob.
I can go into offline mode, but i can't access dota 2 (it gets stuck in waiting for server)

You have probably already checked this, and it should reset everytime you restart steam from a full close down anyway, but you don't have 'offline' checked under 'friends' at the top left, do you? Going 'offline' under 'friends' is purely cosmetic though.

For the client, try going to the regedit
HKCU / Software / Valve / Steam
click on Steam and to the right you should have a line that says Offline 1 - change it to Offline 0

managed to turn my blue border back on, tried to run the browser chat and it forced it from offline to online.

borrowed a friends phone for internet, managed to log in. I'm starting to think it's my ISP (weird time to suddenly block it)

I'll update you if it is my isp.

Thanks anyway.

Good news, bad news.

Good news, my roommate can access steam just fine (his account didn't go offline at all). Bad news is I'm now even more confused on why this happened.

We share our internet with our neighbor and they too can't connect through the steam client. Any idea what's going on. The problem occured around 2 am on Sunday (locally)

Ok I know how too fix it so what you do is you open steam like where it shows your games and in the top left corner it says Steam click on that and one of the options will say go online click on that and your good!
