Origin Product code with Steam?

If I buy a PC download game on Origin, I obviously get a product code with that purchase. CAN I take that product and use it on Steam to get the game to work with Steam. Will the achievements and everything work properly?

No you cant. Origin Product Keys just work on Origin, just like Steam Keys just work on Steam.
They are not compatible. If you want a game on Steam & Origin you have to buy it on both.

well that is not entirely true, as if you buy certain EA games on steam you will be provided with steam / origin redeemable keys..

now i dont have the list in my head but google for it.

Not necessarily. Ignoring that most EA games are not on Steam, if a game requires Origin even on Steam, chances are it actually comes with an Origin key...

Okay so I just tried it and apparently it works. I haven't played yet to see if the achievements work or not but at least I can get the game going

What game was it? Since the only games your account shows that you played in the last two days since you posted is "Euro Truck Simulator" and "Tomb Raider", was it one of those??
