Steam Shopping Cart Keeps Emptying
I would love to buy something in this great sale. Unfortunately after the third time of my shopping cart getting automatically emptied before I have finished shopping, wasting all the time it took me to find the stuff I wanted, I now feel like just waiting for the next sale and a less buggy Steam store. Rule number one of a web store - don't make your customers frustrated to try and shop there. Keeping track of a shopping cart is web-store-101, I can't see how you guys can get this wrong. It is very frustrating to have to keep adding back games I've already marked as wanted. I am trying to use the store from within the PC client (Windows 8.1).

I get 'There was an error trying to load your shopping cart. Please try again later.' instead. Yesterday I managed to click "Checkout" but then I got an error saying my 'transaction could not be initialized' or something.

Edit: Got the same error again; it reads 'There seems to have been an error initializing or updating your transaction. Please wait a minute and try again or contact support for assistance.'

I just got the same error when trying to buy a game for my friend, any fix or work around?

Clear your cart and try again :) Worked for me.
