Prince of Persia Warrior Within didn't come with a cd-code?
a friend bought a phisical copy of the affor mentioned game for me, but my disc drive isn't in too good of a shape, meaning that any attempt to install the game ends with an error. I decided I would add it on steam with a cd key but on closer inspection I couldn't find anything on the box or on the disc itself. What should I do? (sorry if this isn't the right sub forum)

Yeah, the list of accepted keys isn't complete, but the basic idea is still the same: non-Steam games can't usually be activated on Steam; if they can it's a rare exception, not the rule.

So are lots of games, it doesnt mean you can buy them from another website and add it to steam.

So what?
It's a store like any other else.

Why should they accept a copy where they get no piece of the revenue?
Why should they accept a copy they can't validate in any way without access to the key database from the publisher?
Why should they accept a copy that hasn't have a CD key in the very first place?

They are a business, not a charity.
