Is it dangerous to play Spacewar on Steam?
Sometimes, when I'm bored and want to talk with some friends on Steam at the same time, we play Spacewar (yes, the real Spacewar), since the game includes voice chat automatically and is somewhat entertaining with 3-4 people.

So I was wondering if playing Spacewar could bring me some problem, since I know that some groups, when pirating Steam games, make Steam believe that the pirated game is Spacewar, so when you see someone playing Spacewar, since the game doesn't even appear on the store, that person is usually playing a pirated game, and I was wondering if Steam uses to keep an eye on those people or something.

Probably not, since you can tell Steam you are playing it with a simple Steam command, and you won't be playing anything.

at the moment no,but who knows the future, also space war is not a game,is a tool designed for develpers for help with the steam client,if you donwload that you cant do nothing with that aside of pirate games, the fact of that is now removed from store and you cant access nothing about, is proof that maybe steam has keeping an eye on that,in your place i would not take the risk

It's still available to install for anyone who wants it. If Valve were worried about it I'm sure they would completely remove it.

It's a game and a tool for Steamworks partners. It can be played, it even has achievements and no, you're not going to get in trouble for doing so. Just because some people use it as a tool for nefarious deeds, does not mean everyone does. Please don't spread misinformation.

Pretty sure you can install it by just typing steam://install/480

Yeah, like Codename Gordon with steam://install/92

Thanks, everybody.

As a curiosity, this reminds me of when I bought Tower of Guns on Humble Bundle; playing the DRM-free version triggered the "playing Unreal Development Kit" on Steam.
