Steam.exe November 19 Update - Certificate/Digital Signature Invalid?
I just updated to the latest Steam client by clicking Steam->Check for Steam Client Updates.

Everything went fine but if I right click on my Steam.exe in the Steam folder and try to view the details of the Digital Signature dated November 19, Windows says "The Certificate in the Digital Signature cannot be verified."

If I look at the certification path all I see is the Valve certificate with an exclamation mark on it. Certificate status reads: "The issuer of this certificate could not be found."

If I look at the backup made by Steam of my old executable (Steam.exe.old), everything checks out fine with the digital signatures.

My Firewall (TinyWall) is also not happy as it thinks my Steam has possibly been compromised.

Any help? I can't imagine that anything is actually wrong since I updated via my Steam client like always. Do I need to update some root certificates or something on my Win7?

BTW, my MD5 signature is: 05dd0c6b983f7c2e9b4bf1b91afc3545 *Steam.exe

Can anyone else confirm the MD5 sig on their PC?

That MD5 signature seems to be legit. I have the same one. But I'm also having TinyWall saying the binary is "possibly compromised". Had to put the executable on "No recstrictions" to let it get online.
