Noob question: Is Windows 7 also Windows XP or Windows Vista?
Quick question from someone who knows less than his grandfather about tech. I purchased The Sims 3, only to find out that it only runs on Windows XP or Windows Vista. To rectify this, I searched Windows and downloaded Windows 7 for free, will that work or is Windows 7 something separate? I have a Mac, if that means anything.

I belive the Sims3 will work on Win7

The only problem I know of is that Sims3 Medieval doesnt work on Win7. This due to some bizarre DRM scheme only in Sims3 Medieval that won't ever run on Win7.

Note Sims3 oesn't work on Macs

Also note that any DLC you want MUST be purchased on Steam. DLC purchased on other platfroms WILL NOT ACTIVATE on steam.

It doesn't work on Macs? Even if I've downloaded Windows on my Mac?

It will not work on Mac OS X, it will still run on Macs that have Windows through Bootcamp, as long as they meet the requirements.
