Basicly when i play games like dayz watch dogs borderlands i get fps drops discovering new paths but when i play games like nba or fifa its normal cuz it has nowhere to go so idk what should i do please help me
What type of GPU was in your machine previously, Nigrutin? If it was an Nvidia GPU, then you must uninstall all Nvidia drivers before installing the AMD card.
Secondly, be aware that the R7 260X is a mid-range GPU. If you're expecting high framerates on high settings, I'm sorry to say you are mistaken. In a game like DayZ, your card will manage around 30 FPS[www.tomshardware.com] on very high settings @ 1080p.
Use software such as HWmonitor or HWinfo64 to determine the maximum temperatures you're achieving while gaming. Random frame drops are almost always caused by your components reaching a temperature which is too high for them to function, the components will then slow themselves down in an attempt to avoid damage - a process known as "throttling". Post the maximum temperatures you're seeing from the GPU and CPU and we will tell you whether your components are throttling.
Another possibility is that your power supply is not up to the task of powering the 260x, a bit unlikely as that card consumes very little juice. Post the make and model of your PSU anyway.
EDIT: replaced "low-end GPU" with "mid-range GPU"
motherboard 34c
gpu 42c
so only pcu is high but why no fps drops at nba ?
Your CPU will throttle itself at 70 degrees, this number is called the "Tjmax", or the thermal junction max. You're reaching the Tjmax and the CPU is intentionally slowing itself to prevent damage.
When was the last time you cleaned out your PC? Typically, the CPU cooler will accumulate dust and other debris like cigarette smoke residue and pet fur over time. Use some compressed air to clean the CPU cooler.
Case fans can also help. Are you pulling heat out of the case with exhaust fans?
Also, are you using the stock cooler, or an aftermarket one?
CPU too hot = High FPS drop = a dead laptop if you dont stop playing video games on it
A simple explanation as to why one game has frame drops and one doesn't is because not all games are created equal. Some are fine with limited CPU power, some need lots of CPU power.
