Orange Box - still no card drops in TF2?

I purchased the Orange Box, but since then I didn't gain any steam card whatsoever.

Could you please help me?

It may be because Team Fortress 2 is now a free to play game, and free to play games don't drop cards over time, but rather by purchases from the in-game store (specifically, one card for every $9 spent.)

What about free to play games like Team Fortress 2 or Dota 2?
Free to play games drop game cards based on your in-game purchasing. For every $9 USD spent (approximate) since the start of the Steam Trading Card Beta, you will earn one card drop. This card will drop at some point as you play. If you have made in-game purchases in Dota 2 or Team Fortress 2 prior to the Steam Trading Card Beta, or if you owned Team Fortress 2 prior to the Free to Play update, you will have 4 or 5 additional card drops available.

I don't understand what you are suggesting. Team Fortress 2 went free to play in 2011. Unless they bought and registered the game before then, the section you have emphasized doesn't answer the OP's question.

Valve cannot verify how much you paid for that copy, so it can't count.

When was the last time you played TF2? You have to play the game to get your card drops.

Owners of the orange box counts towards being a premium account in TF2. Check your badge section, Do you see card drops remaining for TF2? if so you need to play the game until all your cards drop.

eram, you kinda missed the topic. He was asking why he wasn't getting any possible card drops from activating a retail copy of the orange box. That question was already answered by the FAQ.

The Orange Box retail version only counts if you activated it before the game went F2P, after that only the digital copy gets you card drops as stated by the FAQ quoted above.

He should go to the badges section to make sure and see if it says card drops remaining.

I got the Orange Box and there is no badge for TF2 showing in my Badge page. No matter if you have played the game or not the moment you buy/instal it the badge should show up. Not in my case anyway.

To get a badge, you need to craft it. You don't get it for free.

LOL you are mistaken or you don't know what we are talking about.

If you had any card drops it should show a level 0 badge with the amount of card drops left. If you dont see anything at all then yes as the others have said you wont be eligible for any cards, but it was worth checking just in case.
