Problems with Blue Snowball Microphone

For some reason, whenever I launch most games, my mic just stops working.

I can get it to work again by just quickly recording in audacity.

For certain games the audacity trick doesn't work.

I've tried searching for this problem specifically, but I can't find anything relevant.

I'm using windows 8.1

I got a reply on this privately about 3 months ago now, it's just the internals of the microphone. The best solution is just to tab out and launch audacity and quickly record a clip. Works with most games.

I feel like there isn't a good solution.

Bump...I have the same problem on windows 10 and it's annoying, did you guys manage to fix this somehow?

So is your issue in most games, or is it also on the Steam -client?

If the latter, then try uninstalling your Nvidia GeForce Experience Beta and retry; should you have that installed.

I have not tried a lot of games but it happens to me in fifa 16 and gta v but not in cs go...and i don't have nvidia gforce experience installed

Guys I found a fix for it: You simply have to unplug your mic before launching GTA V and replug it after. That's how I fixed it.

Sorry guys I forgot to tell you, I found a fix that doesn't involve replugging, http://i.imgur.com/cSspZOJ.png you have to disable the HID-compliant consumer control device of the USB port where your mic is plugged in and leave it like that, I never had the problem again after I did that, hope it helps.

♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥. I have had this problem for literally almost 2 years now and I've tried EVERYTHING and could not get it to work properly. Your method worked perfectly and instantly. I can't believe all I had to do was disable one small thing. Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver!

My HID-Compliant is not already disabled, however, my mic still gets disabled whenever I launch a game like GTA V. Another game is Battlefield 1, however, this game isn't in the Steam Client.

You have to disable it in order to fix it.
