Why can't I use Paypal balance no more for adding funds and buying games? [SOLVED]

So Back then,I was able to use my Paypal balance to make purchases on steam,but that stopped and I don't know why.When I try to make a purchase,it leads me to add credit card information. I clearly have enough money for making purchases.Why is this happening? Please someone respond.

Hello. I'm very sorry to necro this.
But I'm having this very problem in 2019. Does someone have a current/updated way to solve this and use their Paypal balance to make a purchase?

I'm being forced to use a credit card everytime I log in during Steam's checkout, and I have more than enough funds available in Paypal balance to see the payment thru.

Steam pushes me to resolve this with Paypal, Paypal pushes me to resolve with Steam, and both support staff are incredibly useless.

Mods don't have official answers about purchase info.

Only support can tell YOU why YOUR account can not do so.

im guessing there is no answer for this? i had this problem last week and there were two options to pay on steam for paypal. one was "PayPal" and the other was "Pay Pal". the second one worked for me. NOW there is only one option "PayPal" with no space. and that is the one that wont let me pay with my paypal balance. wtf steam. Epic will take over very soon.

whoops i think it was "My PayPal" that worked and isnt there anymore

i found something that works for me twice now. went to paypal site and switched my preferred pay method to a card, then switched it right back to paypal balance. then went to pay on steam and paypal balance was available. BUT, the next time i went to pay on steam for another thing, that balance was not available again. had to go switch to the card and back again. F ing ridiculous but hey, this is steam and they always have been super shoddy.

In your Steam cart uncheck the 'save this payment method for next time' box and it will fix it. If it doesn't try again!

Remember Steam tracks every time you go to your steam cart and if you go to it around 10 or more times it will lock you out from purchasing for up to around 4 hours so be careful.

I just unchecked the 'save this payment' box and hit the paypal button and it worked for me.

Yup unchecking 'Save this payment method for next time' worked for me. Makes sence however this is very vague on steams part. literally this was my last attempt otherwise I was just going to buy the game on my XBOX instead, steam should fix this, they will not lose as many customers like they nearly did me.

Today, for the 1st time I also had problems with payment/ purchase through "PayPal", "My PayPal" and manually entered CC , but after unchecked "Save this payment method for next time" everything was just perfect!
