A question about market (1 year) restrictions :)
Anyway, hey guys. On steam, I play only CS GO. Thats literally the only game that I play. Ive read in some other threads however, that apparently there are restrictions stating that you need to buy one game a year in order to use the market (or something like that).

What does it mean? Im just curious, no other reason of asking really. Does it matter if I have money in my Steam wallet?

Also, will buying a game from my Steam Wallet funds suffice?

Ive read it, but theres nothing actually written there about the 1 year restriction...

Purchase Limitations
Your account must have a successful purchase older than thirty days, but not older than a year in order to access the Marketplace. The purchase of wallet funds qualifies for this requirement. Retail CD key activations do not satisfy this requirement.

So wait, when a year has passed since I purchased CS, I wont be able to use the market?
Sorry that Im asking stupid questions, I just really need to know. If for example I purchase a game using existing Steam Wallet money, it qualifies as well, right?

To use the market, you have to of made a direct from steam purchase (Game, dlc,in game item, wadditional wallet funds) that is older than 30 days but less than 365. So yes you buying a game with your existing funds should start the 30 day count down.

Ok, I got it, thanks man. So If I dont buy anything at all and a year has passed since I bought CS GO, I wont be able to use the market at all, until I purchase something, right?

Correct. Every time you buy something you reset the year countdown. So if you bought csgo in August and later bought counter strike source in October, your market expiration would be extended from August 2015 to October 2015.

Thanks a lot, you explained it quite well! One last question though, bear with me :)

If I buy weapon skins in the market, does it reset the countdown as well? Im a very frequent buyer/seller on the market. Does it help in any way or do I HAVE to purchase a game using the wallet funds?

No the market does not count as one of those direct from Steam purchases. If however, you add wallet funds in order to purchase said market item, that addition of wallet funds counts as one of the required yearly purchases.

Ok, I see. So If I buy a game using the Steam wallet right now, the timer will reset for sure?

Yes. That will reset the year market eligibility and at the same time starts the 30 day countdown for market access.
