how do i get back to PC mode ?
somehow i have been switched to game console mode and i don't have a game console.
i have looked around and not found an option to go back to pc mode and have restarted steam and it comes up in console mode each time.

so i guess there is a place in some setting menu system to change this, but i have not found it.

You can also run Steam from the command line with the following argument:

steam.exe -nobigpicture
thank goodness i did not have to go mucking about in my registry to fix this. and thank you for the quick response. i had heard that steam had a helpful bunch reading the forums, and i guess it's true.

thank you for posting.

Late 2022 UI is a bit different.

Bottom left corner, click on "Steam."

Choose "power."

Choose "exit Big Picture Mode."

When in the regular client, top left corner, click "Steam."

Choose "Settings."

Go to "Interface."

Turn off the toggle for "start Steam in Big Picture mode."

This thread was quite old before the recent post, so we're locking it to prevent confusion.
