Minecraft Issues

Hey! So I am having issues with Minecraft resource packs. I open the Resource Pack folder, I plop in faithful32x32, and I go back to Minecraft: No resource pack shows.

Let's go back a bit: my old version of Minecraft worked fine with resource packs. I recently wanted to get SEUS Shaders, so I downloaded forge, GLSL, and SEUS. I started playing, but I discovered I didn't like the SEUS Shaders, and I found a Shaderpack I liked better. I downloaded the other shader pack (I think it was Mr. Meeps but I'm not 100% sure) and dropped it into the shaderpacks folder. But when I opened up Minecraft, the shaderpack didn't show. In the Shaders menu option there was simply no Shaderpack other then "none" and "internal." The Shaderpack was compatible with GLSL, but it wasn't showing up. I tried it again with a few other shaderpacks, and nothing came up.
I uninstalled Minecraft and the mods and went to the Minecraft website. There was a new version of Minecraft that came with an installer, so I choose that. However, I had the same issue: The resource packs weren't showing up, and neither were the shaders I had installed. So I completely uninstalled Minecraft and tried AGAIN, with no luck.
I then went back to the website and downloaded the Minecraft version without the installer, which I believe was the original. I haven't tried Shaders, but I downloaded Faithful 32x32 and plopped it into the Resource Packs folder: IT STILL DOESN'T SHOW UP!!

I just can't get the Resource Pack to show up to select it, and the issue started when I installed GLSL Shaders. Even after uninstalling Minecraft and reinstalling a new one, the issue remains.

Does anyone have the same issue? Does anyone know how to solve this issue? Thanks!

Try asking in a Minecraft forum. Steam does not sell Minecraft.
