Only the account holder can view the account name. It's the small name in your upper right corner of the client and website.
Your other account has a different account name.
Go back to your email and check for the receipts from your game purchases. It will have your real account name on it.

You can see that I have gotten the achievement on christmas day of last year ( on the account that I had played) and last played games in august, thus showing its the same account even though it isn't...

Two separate accounts. One created 4 years ago, one created a year ago.
You made two accounts with different names. But put their public displayed name the same. Like my name here is TirithRR, but that is not anything even remotely close to my account name. And the account name is not visible to anyone but the account holder and is normally kept private unless users tell other or post screenshots containing it.
The only way to recover the account you lost if you cannot remember the account name or the email is how I already mentioned.
The only way to log into an account is with the account name and password. If you cannot remember those you cannot log into it.
The only thing the same about the two accounts is the fact that the visible name for both accounts is the same. That visible name is not unique to the account, it is a name you can change at any time, to pretty much any thing (barring some black listed terms like "Valve").
