PS3 Controller/PC pairing help
Hi! I'm trying to connect my PS3 dualshock controller to my PC. I've looked at lots of articles and stuff and downloaded motioninjoy, but for some reason whenever I plug the controller into my computer, all 4 lights flash twice and then go off for good. It won't connect to DS3 either. Help??!

Because you installed MotionJoy, you might have a hard time to get rid of it.

http://emulation-general.wikia.com/wiki/MotioninJoy#Un-Installation_instructions

To make things a little easier for you, here's a guide how to install SCP drivers. ( http://www.reddit.com/r/PS3/comments/1zgn97/tired_of_motioninjoy_heres_a_pnp_tool_that_makes/cftu7yn) I know that motionjoy is mentioned alot on the internet, but that was because it was the only driver for a long time. And it's filled with bloatware.

SCP drivers are more like a workaround. These drivers let you emulate (wrap) your PS3 controller like an XBOX controller, with all the buttons and joypads including sensitivity + rumble working like they should. It's either SCP or Motionjoy, and for DS4 you can use DS4Windows.

SCP drivers do not work if you don't un-install Motionjoy properly.
Checkout the un-install instructions mentioned above.

The problem is more that my controller isn't turning on

Don't use Motionjoy.

You want your first experience with crapware?
If it's charged, you can press the PS3 button and it will blink until it made a connection.

If it keeps blinking, it didn't found a source to connect.

If it doesn't turn on at all, it might be broken.

It isn't charged, but I would expect the computer to charge it and it still hasn't.

I got it to charge, sorry! Had to disable HID-compliant game controller

I am googling for a separate issue which caused 4 blinking or flashing red lights to blink twice then shut off with nothing after that. Disabling the HID compliant game controller in Device Manager seemed to work for me! I now have the 4 flashing red lights constantly, I believe that means it's finally charging and linked to my PC.

Right now Better DS3 is not reading the controller, so I'm going to let it charge a bit and work from there.
