I have an unused google play card and want to know if i can use it and download the steam app and add funds with the google play cards money loaded onto the google play store account

Apps like https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.pxcoach.credittocash "Cashify" will do it but the app developer takes 10% and Google takes a whopping 30%. That's almost half the value of the card.
