Thanks a lot, this was very helpful
I'm streaming from a very fast, modern, WIn10 PC with 4k monitors to an old laptop using an external 1080p projector. Laptop is running Windows 7 but this hasn't affected streaming in any other aspect. I've tried in the remote play client settings changing to 1080p, also setting this manually in various games, it doesn't change anything. Neither does checking the disable DPI scaling thing in Steam Properties.
I've tried in about 10 different games and they all have the "actual" mouse position (hidden) quite a bit to the right of the shown position. This makes it impossible to change many menu elements, so in some games I can't even try various things like changing fullscreen => windowed.
The only exception is Witcher 3, which *sometimes* has the mouse correctly aligned, but I always play this with controller anyway. I found one bizarre solution I haven't been able to reproduce...
I was streaming Pillars of Eternity 2 with 4k settings on the host. I got into a menu setting where I was unable to get back to the menu and seemingly had no way to exit the game. I closed the window manually but this just logged me off on the client and kept the game going on the host. I tried running Witcher 3 to get POE2 to stop. Instead, Witcher 3 launched but underneath POE2, and now POE2 had correctly aligned mouse settings. I then changed the resolution to 1080p, which didn't help when I exited and reloaded POE2. Mouse was offset again. And my Witcher 3 "fix" didn't work any longer, Witcher 3 would load on top of POE2. I can't change the resolution back to 4k because the spot I need to select is too far to the right on the screen.
It's really strange, I don't understand this issue or why loading multiple games at once would fix it...
Anyone got an update on this? I can't access the host machine for several days unfortunately. I had hoped to be able to game while away from home.
Some games have a "Borderless Windowed" mode which is what Wasteland 3 default was and that did NOT work, has to be actually "Windowed"
So if nothing else from this thread works, maybe this will work for you also.
Thanks. This really helped!
